Farm based livelihoods

Self-sustaining entities driving
We organised entrepreneurship
development training for women our CSR activities
members of self-help groups. At Mithapur, Social enterprises: Okhai Centre for
six clusters / group enterprises were Empowerment (Okhai), Tata Chemicals
formed engaged in Bandhani, Rexene & Society for Rural Development (TCSRD)
Leather, Bead work, Jute, Block print and and Ncourage Social Enterprise
Coconut Fibre products. They are linked to Foundation (NSEF)
Okhai for market development and also Centres of Excellence: Centre
have two retail outlets. In Kenya, TCML for Sustainable Agriculture & Farm
engaged 60 women in bead work to help Excellence (C-SAFE) and Centre for
them earn a sustainable livelihood. Lake Sustainable Conservation Action for
Magadi Eco-tourism project is helping to Protection of Ecosystems of the Seas
finance local community projects. (C-SCAPES)
