The Charakla Saltworks in Gujarat
plays host to more than 120
di erent species of birds each year.
Some of them are resident, others
migratory and a few vagrants that
happen to stray into the region.
Among other birds, the Caspian
Tern (Hydroprogne caspia) is a
resident and can be seen here
almost throughout the year.
