Ensuring safety
At Tata Chemicals North America we believe that all accidents and injuries are preventable. We continuously work on identifying hazards and ensure that risks arising out of these hazards are effectively managed or mitigated to create a safe work environment.
Workplace safety performance is measured through a set of lead and lag measures like TRIFR, compliance issues and conforming to regulatory standards, near miss reporting, safety training, etc.
We have an L&M safety committee which meets monthly and produces an action register which we monitor. We are also working to make a more pro-active approach with our work zone audits and Gemba walks as well as our safety contact program, safety dollar program, etc. to achieve zero harm at workplace.
